šŸ’¬ Real Teachers, Real Classrooms: How Sweet Reads + Skills Are Making a Difference

When I first created Sweet Reads + Skills, my dream was simple:
To give busy teachers meaningful, easy-to-use reading packs that students would actually enjoy.

Now that more classrooms are trying them out, I’ve started hearing from educators who are seeing the results—and I couldn’t be more excited to share some of their stories with you.

🌟 ā€œMy students begged to read it again.ā€

One 2nd grade teacher used The Picnic Problem on a Friday morning and messaged me that afternoon:

ā€œThey loved the story—and the comprehension questions were just right. We reread it during snack time because they asked for it again!ā€

Win-win: engagement + standards-based practice.

🌟 ā€œPerfect for independent centers.ā€

A 3rd grade teacher running rotating literacy centers told me she used The Missing Monarch for independent work.

ā€œMy students could handle it on their own, which freed me up for small groups. The grammar page was especially helpful!ā€

That’s exactly what these packs are built for—flexibility without added prep.

🌟 ā€œI used it for a quick sub day.ā€

Need something ready-to-go when life happens?

ā€œI had to be out unexpectedly, and I printed off a Sweet Reads pack before leaving. It gave the sub structure and kept the kids learning.ā€

And yes—there’s a teacher guide included in every pack, just for moments like this.

šŸ’¬ I’d love to hear from YOU!

I have a bachelor of science degree from Texas A&M University in elementary education specializing in reading. I enjoyed teaching second grade before I had children. Then I had the blessing of home-schooling all four of my kids. During that time, I also taught several classes for other home-schoolers. I am now an empty nester, but I’m not ready to retire. I created many of my own literature units over the years, and I would like to share my knowledge and expertise on this blog to help home-schooling parents and fellow teachers.
